Starts from the gondola boarding area within Muju Deogyusan Resort Ski Resort. Purchase a ticket (round trip adult approx.
17,000 won) and wait in line to board. It takes about 20 minutes to reach Seolcheonbong (1,520m).
From Seolcheonbong Peak, ascend to Hyangjeokbong Peak along a well-maintained deck trail. The slope is gentle, and stairs are well-installed, making it accessible to everyone. In winter, hoarfrost (snow blossoms frozen on trees) creates a spectacular sight on both sides of the trail.
Hyangjeokbong Peak (1,614m) is the highest peak in Deogyusan National Park and the fourth highest peak in South Korea. From the summit, a panoramic view unfolds in all directions, including the main ridge leading to Jungbong Peak (1,594m) and Namdeogyusan Mountain, as well as Jeoksangsan Mountain. You can rest warmly and purchase food inside Hyangjeokbong Shelter.
Return to Seolcheonbong Peak via the ascended path and descend using the gondola. You can enjoy the scenery of the Seolcheonbong Peak-Resort section even inside the gondola.
