Use Taishan's 24-hour opening: leave Hongmen after midnight, climb the stairs all night with a headlamp, and greet the sunrise from the summit — the heart of Taishan culture ("climb by night, repay with sunrise").
Route by Section
Depart 5–6 hours before sunrise, working backwards from the sun's time. A headlamp is mandatory.
Climb the quiet night stairs; many fellow night climbers make it sociable.
The bends feel even steeper at night. Beyond Nantianmen, join the summit waiting crowd.
Greet the sunrise from Yuhuangding or the Riguan platform; cloud seas make it unforgettable.
